FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (4-11-11, 23 pts.) travels to the Philadelphia area to take on the Philadelphia Union (8-6-10, 34 pts.) for its final match in August on Sunday, Aug. 28, at PPL Park. The match will kickoff at 7 p.m. and will be televised regionally on Comcast SportsNet and Galavision and will also be carried locally on the radio by 98.5 The Sports Hub.

Sunday’s match wraps up the season series between the teams. New England fell to Philadelphia on July 17 – a 3-0 loss at Gillette Stadium – but did play to the first ever draw at PPL Park in the Revs’ inaugural trip to Philadelphia on July 31, 2010.

The Revs will conduct four training sessions this week ahead of their travel to Philadelphia.

TEAM NOTES VS. PHILADELPHIA

• Sunday night’s match will be the fourth meeting between the Revolution and The Union, and the second at PPL Park … the clubs met for the first time at PPL Park on July 31, 2010 and played to a 1-1 draw

Same Date, Different Venue: Different Result?
The Revs will wrap up their season series against Philadelphia - and the month of August - on Sunday at PPL Park, marking the second consecutive year the two teams have met and completed the two-game series on August 28 … last year’s late-August match – at Gillette Stadium – saw an early Revs goal erased by two Philadelphia strikes in the 82nd and 92nd minutes, leading to a 2-1 Union victory.

Mansally Unavailable Sunday
Kenny Mansally picked up his second caution and subsequent red card in the 55th minute on Saturday and will be unavailable for Sunday’s match at Philadelphia … the ejection was the first of Mansally’s five-year career and extended the Revs’ league-high red card total to nine on the season … Mansally has been called up by Gambia to play in its match against Namibia in Windhoek on Saturday, Sept. 3, and with the suspension, will now join Gambia earlier in the week.

Revs Near MLS Red-Card Record
The Revs picked up their ninth red card of the season on Saturday when Kenny Mansally was sent off after his second yellow against New York … the nine red cards sets a new club single-season high, surpassing the previous total of six, set in 1998 … the team’s nine red cards is approaching the league’s single-season record of 11 with eight games to play … in 2000, the MetroStars were shown a record 11 red cards in 32 games ... the Revs’ nine-card total is already tied for the second-highest total in league history as three teams have ended the year with nine cards previously: D.C. United in 1999, New York in 2002, and Miami Fusion in 2000

Milton Buries Brace
It took New England Designated Player Milton Caraglio 235 minutes into his MLS career to score his first goal … the 22-year-old Argentine scored his first MLS goal in the 15th minute on Saturday against New York, converting a chance of his own rebounded shot … in the 37th minute, Caraglio increased his account when he headed in Kenny Mansally’s free kick service at the back post … Caraglio’s two-goal effort marked the Revs’ first in 47 games dating back to the 2010 season when Zak Boggs scored two goals at Columbus on May 8.

First-Half Feat
Milton Caraglio’s two goals in the first half – in the 15th and 37th minutes – on Saturday marked the first time the team has had a two-goal lead since its road match at Real Salt Lake on July 4 – a span of eight games … Saturday’s feat was short-lived as two second-half goals by the Red Bulls forced a 2-2 draw …similarly, on July 4, Rajko Lekic (fourth minute) and Chris Tierney (16th minute) scored early, putting New England up 2-0, but the match ended in a 3-3 draw in Sandy.

Shots Just Don’t Add Up
The Revs took 13 shots against New York on Saturday, and despite out-shooting their opponent for the eighth time this season, the Revs were unable to secure a win … the Revs have a surprising 0-3-5 record when out-shooting their opponents this season … all four of the team’s regular-season wins this season have come when the Revs have been out-shot by their opponents … with 285 shots in 26 games (10.96 shots per game) – 16th overall in the league – New England’s total trails league leader Dallas (362 shots in 26 games, 13.92 shots per game) by 77 shots.

To Have and To Hold…
In five of the last six games, the Revs have scored first to stake an early lead, and in each of those five contests they have been unable to hold on for the full three points … in fact, since July 23 at Colorado, the Revs have scored first – against Colorado, Kansas City, Columbus, Houston, and New York – and held the lead for on average of 39 minutes per game before surrendering an equalizer … in that span, the Revs have gone 0-1-4 and have seen opponents score in the 87th (New York), 89th (Kansas City) and 90th (Houston) minutes to equalize, costing the Revs at least three wins and six points in the standings.

… But Still Finding the Net of Late
While the Revs have scored just 26 goals this season – tied for 17th out of 18 teams in the league – the club has now scored in each of its last seven matches and in 10 of its 11 MLS matches dating back to June 18 … the team’s current seven-game scoring streak is its longest of the season, surpassing the four-game streak with which the club started the season … in the last seven games, the Revs have scored 1.42 goals per game, significantly better than its 1.00 goals per game average on the season.

Hoping to End August on Winning Note
The Revs hope to end their six-game winless streak on Sunday, where they will finish off a tough month of August in which the club has gone 0-2-2 … despite scoring 1.50 goals a game in the four contests this month – the second highest goals per game mark in August since 2006 – the Revs have given up nine goals and gone winless … the Revs last went winless in August in 1997 – the only time in club history – and conceded 18 goals in six games.

Reserves Drop First Since May
The Revolution Reserves returned to action Sunday, falling to the New York Red Bulls Reserves, 2-0, and snapping their four-game undefeated streak … the Reserves (3-3-1, 10 pts.) will travel to Philadelphia to play the Union on Monday, Aug. 29, in its next Reserve League game … Sunday’s loss was the reserve team’s first since suffering a 1-0 defeat at Columbus on May 9.
