Fagundez among top goal-scorers in U.S. Soccer Development Academy

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution youth product Diego Fagundez (Leominster, Mass.) finished the U.S. Soccer Development Academy regular season ranked seventh in goals scored in the Under-15/16 age group, and 11th overall in the league, which is composed of 78 teams across the country.


Fagundez has scored 17 goals and added 15 assists in 22 games during the 2010-11 youth season – 15 goals and 10 assists in 15 appearances with the U16s, and two goals and five assists in six appearances with the U18s. Also signed to a Home Grown player contract with the Revolution, the 16-year old has played in five Reserve Division games and made two substitute appearances in the team’s two U.S. Open Cup qualification matches.


The U16s will next play in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy playoffs in Frisco, Texas, June 24-28, while the U18s participate in U.S. Soccer’s Showcase in conjunction with the playoffs.
