Fagundez earns U16 Honors

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution youth product Diego Fagundez(Leominster, Mass.) has earned Under-16 Performer of the Week from the U.S. Soccer Development Academy following the Revs’ 3-2 win against D.C. United on Sunday, April 10. The Leominster, Mass. native scored in the 23rd minute, before registering an assist on Devin Devoy’s game-winning goal in the 75th minute.

Fagundez has scored 12 goals and added six assists in 12 games this season – 10 goals and four assists in nine appearances with the U16s, and two goals and two assists in three appearances with the U18s. Also signed as a Home Grown by the Revolution, the 16-year old made a 66-minute substitute appearance in the senior team’s reserve match against D.C. United on Saturday, March 26.


The Revolution Under-18s (6-8-2) and Under-16s (6-5-5) are both on the road again this weekend, when they will play Seacoast United in Epping, N.H. on Saturday, April 16, and Empire United in Syracuse, N.Y. on Sunday, April 17. The teams’ regular training schedule includes sessions held Tuesday through Thursday, from 5-7 p.m., on the Gillette Stadium field.
