Revs selects three in Supplemental Draft

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution selected three players in today’s Supplemental Draft, which consisted of three rounds of 18 selections each. The Revs picked sixth in each round, selecting three midfielders:


  • D/M Hunter Christiansen, Tulsa (Denton, Texas; first round, sixth pick overall)
  • MFernando Cabadas, Sacramento State (Sacramento, Calif.; second round, 24th pick overall)
  • MAndrew Sousa, Providence College (Fall River, Mass.; third round, 42nd pick overall)


Christiansen, 23, played defense as a senior after beginning his career as a midfielder at Tulsa. He scored one goal and added two assists in 2010, pushing his career totals to nine goals and 11 assists in 76 games played. The Denton, Texas, product was a two-time All-Conference USA performer.


Cabadas, 22, was a three-time first-team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation selection at Sacramento State. He scored nine goals and added 19 assists in 78 career games while playing in an attacking midfielder position. The Sacramento, Calif., native began his career by walking on to the team.


Sousa, 21, scored seven goals and added six assists in three seasons at Providence after playing one season at Limestone College (S.C.). The Fall River, Mass., native posted career best totals of four goals and two assists in 2010 as senior, appearing in 18 games. He played his high school soccer at B.M.C. Durfee High School.
