2010 SUM U-17 Cup: Chivas USA 1, Revs 0

In the Group C opener, Chivas USA came away with a 1-0 win thanks to a Victor Vazquez goal in the 25th minute. Chivas dominated much of the match and was unlucky to not net several more goals. Late in the first half, Steve Palacios struck the ball from outside the 18-yard box, but New England goalkeeper Ryan Simpson made a diving save to deflect the shot away. Chivas USA's Jose Luis Martinez found an opening in the second half, but his shot went just wide of the net. Chivas still held on for a win and three points.
