Assistant Coach, Under-16s
Kyle Teixeira is in his fifth season as an assistant coach with the New England Revolution Academy’s youth teams, and his 11th season overall with the Revolution Academy. In addition to his Under-14 team coaching duties, Teixeira has been coaching with the Revolution Academy’s Player Development Program since joining the organization as a staff coach in 2006.
Teixeira will serve as one of Jonathan Pereira’s assistant coaches for the Under-16 team, which finished the 2015-16 regular season with a record of 13-5-8 and qualified for the Under-16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoffs. Prior to this year, Teixeira spent four seasons as an assistant coach for the Under-14s. In 2013-14, the U-14s went 18 games unbeaten between October 2013 and June 2014 in the age group’s first season in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy while the U-14s went 19 games unbeaten last season between November 2014 and June 2015.
Outside of his bench coaching responsibilities, Teixeira is in his fourth season serving as the designated skills coach for the Academy, working with all three youth teams to further develop their foot skills on the ball.
The Warren, R.I., native played four seasons at Rhode Island College, leading the Anchormen to their first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship. A four-time First Team All-Conference honoree, three-time conference player of the year and four-time conference top scorer, Teixeira was inducted into RIC’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012. Most recently, he played with the Western Mass Pioneers (USL Second Division – 2005-2007) – earning a nomination for the 2007 USL rookie of the year – and the Massachusetts Twisters (AISL – 2005-2007).
Teixeira received his Futsal coaching certification in the fall of 2013.
