New England Revolution

Gabriel Martínez Poch is entering his second season as Head Fitness Coach for the New England Revolution after joining the technical staff in January 2019.  Poch, who works closely with Director of Sports Performance Jarryd Phillips under the direction of Sporting Director Bruce Arena, brings extensive experience with top-flight clubs in South America to the Revolution, most recently with Mineros de Guayana of the Venezuelan First Division.

Poch, 53, has worked for two decades as a sports science specialist with several top clubs around the world, including stints at multiple top-division outfits in South America. A native of La Plata, Argentina, he has worked extensively for clubs in South America, Europe, and Asia. Most recently, he helped guide Argentine side Aldosivi de Mar del Plata to promotion into the Argentina SuperLiga as a methodologist and technical assistant in 2018. Poch earned his UEFA Level 3 'B' License in Barcelona in 2015.

In addition to his time with Aldosivi, Poch’s prior experience is highlighted by stints with 18 different clubs in Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Spain, Romania, the United States, Kuwait, and Qatar. Poch has helped clubs to a number of major accomplishments, including a Bolivian Primera Divisón title with Wilstermann in 2006, and an Ecuadorian Serie A championship with Deportivo Quito in 2009. He also helped guide several clubs to promotion in their respective leagues.
