New England Revolution
Cathal Conlon is entering his tenth season with the Revolution and his first in his current position after being promoted to Vice President of Marketing in December 2014. Conlon oversees and directs all aspects of the Revolution's marketing initiatives, including advertising, grassroots campaigns, promotional activities, fans' in-stadium experience and the team's overall branding efforts, in addition to over-seeing the team’s digital media efforts. In February of 2014, Conlon also assumed responsibility for the club’s Charitable Foundation, and all community programs and initiatives. He will also be the team's primary point of contact for the team's supporters groups, working with the organizations to increase membership and enhance the groups' involvement with the club.
Conlon joined the Revolution in 2006 as an Account Executive on the ticketing staff, and during his time with the group, helped build and develop the club's newly-created service team. He spent the 2007 season as the ticket staff's Workflow Coordinator, a position in which he created an enhanced customer service program and also managed the ticketing staff's activities on game days, including staffing and on-field activities. One season later, he was promoted to Customer Service/Inside Sales Manager, where for the last two years he managed the expanded, dedicated customer service staff and its programs, trained and oversaw the staff's Inside Sales Representatives, and also became the team liaison to the club's supporters groups. In 2010, Conlon was promoted to Director of Marketing, a position he held for five seasons.
Conlon began his career in the golf industry, with positions at Brae Burn Country Club in Newton, Mass., and Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club in Kenmare, Ireland. At Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club, Conlon managed all aspects of the resort's golf operations and also oversaw retail operations and marketing efforts with local hotels and businesses. He returned to the U.S. to become the Outside Services Supervisor at Warwick Country Club in Rhode Island, where he managed events at the club, as well as the golf and service staff, before joining the Revolution.
A native of Ardee, Ireland, Conlon attended Liverpool John Moores University and earned a degree in sports science in 1999. He and his wife, Noreen and son Oliver, live in South Boston. Conlon is the Treasurer of Irish Network Boston and in 2012, was named to the Irish Echo Top 40 under 40, Irish American Young Leaders.
