MLS Referee Post-Game Forum 2009
Exclusive to Youth Soccer Partners

On Sunday, July 19, the Revolution hosted its second-annual Referee Night following the Revs-Chivas USA match at Gillette Stadium.

The MLS Referee Post-Game Forum is a benefit reserved for Youth Soccer Partners of the Revolution. The Youth Soccer Partnership initiative engages the Revolution with youth soccer organizations to promote soccer on a season-long basis through tickets for volunteers, organization-wide group nights, fundraising and unique experiences, including access to Revolution coaches, training and development staff, MLS referees and team training sessions.

More than 100 referees from the Youth Soccer Partners community attended the post-game forum in the Fidelity Investments Clubhouse. A full-capacity crowd had the opportunity to ask the game’s referees and officials questions about calls made during the Revs’ 2-0 win over Chivas USA, in addition to hearing about the referees’ game responsibilities and career experience.

In addition to the formal presentation by the MLS referees, young referees who attended had the opportunity to network with more established referees. The Rev Girls also attended, and gave away a selection of prizes, including game tickets and Revolution autographed merchandise.
