Coach Night 2009
Exclusive to Youth Soccer Partners
The New England Revolution hosted its second annual Coach Night prior to the match against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, May 16, in the exclusive Fidelity Investments Clubhouse at Gillette Stadium.
Coach Night is an amenity reserved for Youth Soccer Partners of the Revolution. The Youth Soccer Partnership initiative engages the Revolution with youth soccer organizations to promote soccer on a season-long basis through tickets for volunteers, organization-wide group nights, fundraising and unique experiences, including access to Revolution coaches, training and development staff, MLS referees and team training sessions.
More than 100 coaches attended the 2009 Coach Night that featured members of the Revolution’s technical staff. The evening’s keynote speaker was assistant coach Paul Mariner, while other guests included Vice President of Player Personnel Michael Burns, Revs Academy Director Deven Apajee and members of the Revolution Youth Development staff.
The voice of the Revolution, Brad Feldman, hosted the event and introduced Mariner. The Revs’ first lieutenant previewed the match for the attendees, and fielded numerous questions about the team and coaching tactics.
In addition to the complimentary hospitality available, attendees were able to view the Revolution’s recent championship trophies. Participants also enjoyed the chance to win prizes – like LA Galaxy tickets and autographed memorabilia – given away by the Rev Girls.
Following the event, all coaches who attended watched the Revolution take on the Rapids from prime midfield seats.
