Revs to Face New York in Eastern Conference Semis
Revs and Red Bulls will renew their rivaly in the postseason beginning on Oct. 27 and concluding on Nov. 3

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution will face the New York Red Bulls in their 2007 MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Semifinals Series. The two-game, total-goal series will begin with Game One on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Giants Stadium and conclude with Game Two at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 3. Both games will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and television coverage for the series will be announced at a later date.

Tickets for the Revs’ home leg on Nov. 3 start at $18 and are on sale through the Revolution ticket office (1-877-GET-REVS) and Ticketmaster (617-931-2222). The Revolution is also offering a special “Playoff Ticket 4-Pack,” which starts at $72 and includes four tickets to the match and four Revolution winter hats. The “Playoff Ticket 4-Packs” can only be purchased by calling the Revolution at 1-877-GET-REVS.

The Revolution finished second in the Eastern Conference and enter the upcoming final weekend of regular-season action with a 14-8-7 record (49 pts.). New York clinched third place in the East last weekend and enter their final game of the regular season against Los Angeles on Thursday with a record of 12-11-6 (42 pts.).

New England won the three-game regular-season series with New York, going 2-0-1 against the Red Bulls this season, including a 1-0-1 mark at Giants Stadium. On July 14, Andy Dorman scored the game’s only goal to secure a 1-0 Revolution victory in East Rutherford. New York scored an own goal in the 80th minute on Aug. 25 at Gillette Stadium to hand the Revs a 2-1 victory. In the teams’ last meeting on Sept. 22, Red Bulls MLS MVP candidate Juan Pablo Angel scored the game-tying goal in the 84th minute - after the Revs’ Taylor Twellman had scored twice to give New England a 2-1 lead - as the clubs played to a 2-2 draw at Giants Stadium.

This will mark third postseason meeting between the teams in league history, the Revs winning the two previous series. The clubs also met in the 2003 Eastern Conference Semifinals (the Revs won 3-1 in total goals) and in the 2005 Eastern Conference Semifinals (the Revs won 3-2 in total goals).

The Revolution conclude the 2007 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 20, when the team makes its first-ever trip north of the border to face Toronto FC at 12:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised live on Comcast Sports Net (formerly Fox Sports New England) and will be carried by the WEEI Radio Network.
