Wolde Harris saved the Revs from being shutout for the second time this season when he scored his first goal of the season in the 82nd minute to make the score 4-1.

The Rapids took the lead in the 9th minute when they were able to find some space inside the Revs' penalty box. Spencer collected a Ritchie Kotschau header 14 yards from goal and played a square ball to Trembly, who side-footed a low shot past Revs' goalkeeper Adin Brown to make the score 1-0.

It was 2-0 just 12 minutes later as Spencer went from provider to goal-scorer, heading home a Mark Chung cross from 10 yards out. The 5-foot-7 Scotsman was marked tightly inside the Revs penalty area as the cross came in, but he was able to muscle his way inside his defender and head the ball past Brown for his second goal of the year.

Things just got worse for the Revs six minutes before halftime as Chung picked up his first goal of the season. The midfielder collected a long pass from Chris Henderson inside the box and sent a left-footed shot past the diving Brown and just inside his left post to make the score 3-0 going into halftime.

New England has never come back to win from three goals down, and the Revs would not on this night as Chris Carrieri got in on the scoring in the 69th minute with his second goal of the season. Rookie Casey Schmidt, who had just come on seven minutes earlier, got the ball out to fellow substitute Zach Kingsley on the right wing and Kingsley whipped in a cross that Carrieri volleyed home to make the score 4-0.

Wolde Harris, who had created a majority of the Revs chances on the night, finally got his club on the scoreboard in the 82nd minute with his third career goal against the Rapids. Harris deftly controlled an angled ball from Daniel Hernandez inside the box and slotted the ball past Colorado keeper Scott Garlick from 15 yards out with his left foot.

Despite allowing a season-high four goals, Brown was the Revs man of the match, making seven saves including three spectacular saves that kept out certain goals for Colorado.

Shalrie Joseph, Joe-Max Moore and Rusty Pierce all started and played 90 minutes for Steve Nicol after missing the last match through injury. However, Brian Kamler was not so lucky and was forced to sit the game out with a hamstring injury. His absence left the Revs without their top two scorers as Taylor Twellman was also unavailable due to U.S. National Team commitments at the Confederations Cup in France.
