TUCSON, Ariz. – The New England Revolution conceded a pair of goals in the dying minutes of Wednesday night’s Desert Diamond Cup group stage finale against Real Salt Lake, slipping to a 3-2 loss and settling for a spot in the tournament’s consolation game on Saturday evening.

The Revs (1-2-0, 3 pts.) will face the New York Red Bulls (0-2-1, 1 pt.) in the consolation match at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 23, while Real Salt Lake’s (1-1-1, 4 pts.) late heroics earned the club a spot in the nationally-televised championship game against Seattle Sounders FC (3-0-0, 9 pts.) at 8 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.

TUCSON, Ariz. – Conceding a pair of late goals to slip into the Desert Diamond Cup consolation game put a damper on Wednesday night’s group stage finale against Real Salt Lake, but New England Revolution fans will be buoyed by an occasionally electric performance from young Diego Fagundez.

The 18-year-old Homegrown talent was at his best on the Revolution’s opening goal in the 50^th minute. After expertly controlling Andrew Farrell’s long diagonal pass, Fagundez raced down the left wing, rounded his defender and crossed for Andy Dorman to finish from close range.
