FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Former New England Revolution forward Taylor Twellman became the first supporter to join the Revolution’s Season Membership Program on Friday. Twellman, in association with his ThinkTaylor Foundation, has purchased four Season Memberships ahead of the 2017 MLS Season.
“It’s great to support the club that gave me so much over the course of my career,” said Twellman. “By getting these tickets for ThinkTaylor, I can support the club I love and give great opportunities to those who support our mission. As a former player, these loyal fans always gave us a boost on the field, and I’m proud to be joining them as a Revolution Season Member.”
The ThinkTaylor Foundation was founded in 2011 to create social change surrounding the important issue of traumatic brain injuries. Their vision is to provide a safe and healthy environment by providing compassion and support to those affected by concussions. The Revolution will be partnering with ThinkTaylor for a pair of events this season, beginning with the first installment of the club’s seventh annual Celebrity Bartending series on Wednesday, Aug. 31. All proceeds will benefit the ThinkTaylor Foundation and support ongoing concussion research. The Revs are also partnering with ThinkTaylor for Concussion Awareness Night on Sept. 3, when the club hosts the Colorado Rapids. The match will serve as an early kickoff for Concussion Awareness Week, which takes place from Sept. 12-16.
Twellman, selected second overall by New England in the 2002 MLS SuperDraft, played eight seasons for the Revolution (2002-09), recording 101 goals and 28 assists in 15,046 minutes of action. Twellman was an integral part of some of the most accomplished teams in club history, helping lead the Revs to the MLS Cup in 2005, 2006, and 2007. The St. Louis native also became the youngest and fastest player in league history to record 100 career goals on June 7, 2009 at Gillette Stadium.
Among the new features of the Season Membership Program is the monthly payment schedule, which offers fans greater flexibility and convenience than one yearly payment. Also, in addition to all 17 regular season home games, Season Members are guaranteed their seats for any home games during the MLS Playoffs, excluding the MLS Cup championship match. Additional tickets can also be purchased for any home match at the box office for a discounted rate.
In addition to carrying over the entire suite of benefits from the previous season ticket package, the exclusive benefits available to Season Members include a unique members’ jacket from adidas (one per seat) not available at retail. This limited edition jacket shows the club’s deep appreciation for Season Members’ support and also aims to create a community among Revolution supporters in cities and towns across the region.
