Revolution Host Second Annual Charity Bowling Event on August 16

DL - Bowl for a Goal

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution will host the second annual Bowl for a Goal charity bowling event on Tuesday, Aug. 16. Bowl for a Goal presented by Arbella Insurance will be held at Splitsville Lanes at Patriot Place in Foxborough, Mass., with all proceeds benefitting Special Olympics Massachusetts. The event is open to the public, allowing fans an exciting opportunity to join Revolution players, coaches, and celebrities in supporting Special Olympics Massachusetts; tickets are currently on saleHERE

“This event is one in a series the Revolution have been involved in throughout the summer and it’s a great opportunity to unite Revolution players, partners, and fans in support of Special Olympics Massachusetts. It’s been inspiring to see unified athletes out on the field representing the club in a Revolution jersey in the Unified match and we are excited to be hosting our second annual Bowl For A Goal benefitting Special Olympics Massachusetts,” said New England Revolution President, Brian Bilello. “Last year’s event raised over $60,000 and we look forward to building on that success this year and in years to come.”

For just a $25 donation to Special Olympics Massachusetts, fans can purchase a general admission ticket to attend the event and meet their favorite Revolution players, past club greats, and local Special Olympics athletes. Among the guests will be emcee Ethan Zohn, CSN New England analyst and winner of CBS’s Survivor in 2001. Fans will also have a chance to participate in a survey-based game, OpinioNation, and bid on silent auction items. All proceeds raised through Bowl for a Goal presented by Arbella Insurance will be donated to Special Olympics Massachusetts prior to the Revs’ home game on Saturday, August 20 against Columbus Crew SC.

“Arbella is a longstanding partner of Special Olympics Massachusetts and this is our second year sponsoring the Bowl for a Goal event,” said Gayle O’Connell, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at the Arbella Insurance Group. “They are a great organization and do so much for youth and young adults with intellectual disabilities. Arbella employees are proud to participate in the many SOMA athletic events which take place all year. We truly enjoy watching how much fun the athletes have competing in the many different sporting competitions.”
The evening is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. ET with the introduction of the participants, while the bowling will get underway at 6:30 p.m. Following the conclusion of the bowling, awards will be distributed, and the silent auction will conclude. The exclusive auction items include signed memorabilia from Boston-area sports stars and framed Revs jerseys autographed by AC/DC, Jason Aldean, Kenney Chesney, and more. “This year has seen the relationship between Special Olympics Massachusetts and the New England Revolution take a huge leap forward,” said Special Olympics Massachusetts President and CEO Mary Beth McMahon. “The Revolution organization, from the front office to the players, has shown a real commitment to highlighting sports as a way to share joy, improve lives, and build stronger relationships. We couldn’t ask for a better partner!”
Bowl for a Goal presented by Arbella Insurance is the culmination of several events this summer bringing together the Revolution and Special Olympics Massachusetts. In June, Special Olympics athletes joined the Revolution by signing contracts and visiting a training session, which Revs players reciprocated with a visit to the Special Olympics Massachusetts facility in Marlborough, Mass. earlier in August. The two organizations also collaborated for a Unified match, featuring local athletes with and without intellectual disabilities, against a Unified team from New York on July 6; this summer’s second Unified match is slated for August 28 prior to the Revolution’s match against the New York Red Bulls in Harrison, N.J.
