FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (6-8-8; 26 pts.) fell to Orlando City SC (5-5-11; 26 pts.), 3-1, at Camping World Stadium on Sunday evening. Kei Kamara opened the scoring for the Revolution with his ninth goal of the season in the 19th minute, but Orlando responded with three unanswered in the second half. New England remains above the red line in the sixth slot on the Eastern Conference table despite the loss. 

Forward Charlie Davies, who this weekend announced he is in remission from cancer, made his first appearance since April 27 when he replaced Scott Caldwell as a substitute. Davies registered two shots on goal in his first 15 minutes back on the field.

New England returns to action on Saturday, August 6, when it visits Toronto FC at BMO Field for the clubs’ second and final meeting of the regular season.  The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast locally on Comcast SportsNet, with Brad Feldman and Paul Mariner calling the action. GAME NOTES

Revolution Retain Sixth Seed in Eastern Conference


· Despite tonight’s loss to Orlando City SC, the Revolution remain in the sixth spot on the Eastern Conference table with 26 points. 
· New England and Orlando are now level with 26 points, but the Revolution remain ahead of the Lions in the standings with more wins. 

Charlie Davies Returns, Makes First Appearance since April 27 
· Forward Charlie Davies made his first appearance since April 27 when he replaced Scott Caldwell as a substitute in the 75th minute. Davies announced this weekend that he is in remission from cancer, which he was diagnosed with shortly after he suffered a groin injury against the Portland Timbers on April 27. 
· Davies missed 15 games across all competitions for the Revolution while recovering from a groin injury and cancer diagnosis. 
· The forward recorded eight touches, two shots on target, and one chance created in 15 minutes. 

Koffie Sees Extended Action for First Time Since Injury
· Midfielder Gershon Koffie played 28 minutes after replacing Chris Tierney as a substitute in the 62nd minute. It was the most minutes Koffie has seen since he suffered a knee injury on May 21 against FC Dallas. 
· Koffie made his first appearance since May 21 in last weekend’s win against the Chicago Fire, playing two minutes as a substitute.  He missed 10 games across all competitions while recovering from the knee injury. 
· Koffie recorded 27 touches, one tackle, and one chance created in tonight’s match. 

Shuttleworth, Revolution See Season-Best Shutout Streak Snapped in Second Half 
· Goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth and the Revolution saw their season-best, 273-minute shutout streak come to an end when Kevin Molino equalized the score in the 46th minute.
· New England last surrendered a goal in the 42nd minute of its 3-1 win against Columbus Crew SC on July 9. 
· Shuttleworth and the Revs entered tonight’s match on the heels of consecutive shutouts against Real Salt Lake on July 16 and the Chicago Fire on July 23. 

Rowe Records Third Assist of 2016; Moves Up on Club’s All-Time Chart
· Midfielder Kelyn Rowe registered his third assist of the season on Kei Kamara’s 19th-minute goal. Rowe’s three assists are good for second most on the team, level with defender Chris Tierney and midfielder Gershon Koffie
· Rowe’s assist was the 28th of his Revolution and MLS career, which moves him past Jay Heaps into a tie with Jose Cancela for eighth place on the club’s all-time assists chart. 

Kamara Opens Scoring for Revs with Ninth Goal of 2016

· Forward Kei Kamara opened the scoring in tonight’s match with his ninth goal of the season, a curling, right-footed shot following a run from midfield into Orlando’s penalty area.  
· Kamara moves into a tie with Portland Timbers midfielder Diego Valeri for fifth most goals scored among all MLS players. Only eight players have scored more goals than the Revs forward in 2016. 

Revolution’s Starting XI Goes Unchanged; Charlie Davies Rejoins the 18
· Revolution Head Coach Jay Heaps left the team’s starting lineup unchanged from last weekend’s 1-0 win against the Chicago Fire.
· Forward Charlie Davies rejoined the Revolution’s 18-man match day roster for the first time April 27.

19th minute (GOAL) – Forward Kei Kamara opens the scoring and puts the Revolution in front, 1-0, with a curling, right-footed shot from inside of the 18-yard box. Kamara reeled in a pass from Kelyn Rowe at midfield and made a run down the remainder of the field in a fantastic individual effort (WATCH HERE).  


37th minute (DEFLECTION) – Orlando City SC forward Cyle Larin nearly finds an equalizer late in the first half, but his shot is deflected by a Revolution defender, which pushes the ball just wide of the net (WATCH HERE).


57th minute (SHOT) – Midfielder Lee Nguyen nearly puts the Revolution back in front in the 57th minute. He takes a powerful left-footed shot from distance, but slices it just beyond the far post (WATCH HERE)


75th minute (SHOT) – Moments after Charlie Davies enters the match as a substitute, Gershon Koffie flicks a perfect through-ball to Kelyn Rowe, but he can’t connect well enough to beat Orlando City goalkeeper Joe Bendik (WATCH HERE).
