Final: Revolution 0, Real Salt Lake 0

Game Story July 16

SANDY, Utah – The New England Revolution (5-7-8; 23 pts.) played Real Salt Lake (8-5-6; 30 pts.) to a scoreless draw at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday night.  Goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth propelled the Revolution with a pair of spectacular saves en route to his fourth shutout and the club’s fourth clean sheet of the season. By picking up a point tonight against a Real Salt Lake side unbeaten at home this season, the Revolution remain above the Red Line in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

New England had a pair of scoring chances in the second half that nearly gave the club its first ever victory at Rio Tinto Stadium. Forward Kei Kamara found the back of the net in the 50th minute, but his goal was disallowed by the referee due to a foul away from the ball. Later, in the 74th minute, Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando made a spectacular kick save on Diego Fagundez, who found space for a shot inside of the penalty area.
