U16 Youth Academy Team Action shot

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution's Under-18, Under-16, and Under-14 teams were all back in action this weekend, with each Academy team hosting Everton FC Westchester. The U-18s, U-16s and U-14s all claimed victories on Sunday, May 22. The U-23 team was also in action this weekend, taking on the Revolution first team reserves in a scrimmage match.


WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS

  • U-14 midfielder Trevor Burns (Southborough, Mass.) notched a brace in the Revs' 2-1 victory. Burns has scored nine goals this season, including five goals in the U-14s' last two matches.
  • U-16 midfielders Elio Firmino (Somerville, Mass.) and Amos Shapiro-Thompson (Worthington, Mass.) as well as forwards Laz Dorogi (West Boylston, Mass.) and Gabriel Meireles (Everett, Mass.) scored in Sunday's 4-1 victory. This marks the second time this season four different U-16 players scored in the same match. The first occurrence was also against Everton FC Westchester on Sept. 26.
  • U-18 forward Andrew Barrowman (Marshfield, Mass.) scored and added an assist in the U-18s 3-1 win. Barrowman now has six goals and three assists on the season.
  • U-18 forwards Aaron James (Amherst, Mass.), Izaiah Jennings (Barrington, R.I.), and Justin Rennicks (South Hamilton, Mass.) appeared for the U-23s vs. the Revolution first team reserves on May 22.

The New England Revolution U-18, U-16, and U-14 teams will all be back in action this weekend with matches set to take place on Saturday, May 28. The U-18s and U-16s will play the Montreal Impact's U-18s and U-16s at Randolph High School in Randolph, Mass. The U-14s will travel to New York to take on New York City FC's U-14s. Following the weekend, the U-18s and U-16s will play Beachside SC's U-18s and U-16s on Monday, May 30 to close out the regular season.
