FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution has loaned midfielder Donnie Smith to the Rochester Rhinos of the USL PRO. This is the fourth time this season that Smith has been loaned to the Revs’ USL PRO affiliate, having made five previous appearances for the Rhinos, who host the Wilmington Hammerheads in their regular-season finale on Saturday.

Now in his second season with the Revolution, Smith has made three appearances for the Revs in all competitions this season, playing twice in the U.S. Open Cup – including once against Rochester – and once in the league. He made his 2014 debut on March 15, playing the opening 45 minutes of a 1-0 loss to Philadelphia at PPL Park.

He joins fellow Revolution players Jossimar Sanchez, Luis Soffner and Alec Sundly on loan with the Rhinos, who are currently tied for sixth place in the USL PRO standings heading into the final weekend of the season. The top eight teams in the league qualify for the postseason, which begins next weekend.
