FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution’s Under-18, Under-16 and Under-14 teams returned to U.S. Soccer Development Academy play last weekend, following the three-month winter break from league action. All three teams played on Saturday, March 14, where the U-18s opened with a 2-0 victory, the U-16s played to a 0-0 draw and the U-14s closed the Academy slate for the weekend with a 6-0 win. All three games were played at Seacoast United Outdoor Complex in Epping, N.H.
While they played with the Revolution Academy last weekend, two Under-18 players will soon be absent due to their involvement with the U.S. Under-18 Boys’ National Team. Daniel Jones (West Hartford, Conn.) and Justin Rennicks (South Hamilton, Mass.) are set to train with the U.S. U-18s in an international camp being held in Buenos Aires, Argentina from March 7-17.
The U-18s are set to play San Lorenzo ’99 on March 12, Racing Club ’99 on March 14 and Uruguay ’00 on March 16.
UNDER-18s
The Under-18s played their first competitive match since early December on Saturday when they scored and kept a clean en route to a 2-0 victory over Seacoast United at Seacoast United Outdoor Complex. Forward Izaiah Jennings (Barrington R.I.) recorded a brace, scoring goals on either side of halftime to give the U-18s their first win of the Spring season. The scoring was opened the scoring in the 38th minute as Matt Ranieri (Natick Mass.) found Jennings for the initial goal. Jennings scored again following the halftime whistle, as he found the back of the net in the 58th minute with midfielder Joe Brito (Bolton, Conn.) claiming the assist. The Revs managed to record 15 shots, including 12 shots on target, during the course of the full ninety minutes. Goalkeeper Trey Miller (Monson, Mass.) recorded his second shutout of the 2015-16 season, Stopping two Seacoast United shots on target.

The Under-16s were back in action for the first time since playing in the Generation adidas Cup last month, playing Seacoast United to a scoreless draw. The Revs held the ball well and looked to play an attacking style, but were unable to record the first goal of the spring season. UNDER-14s
The Under-14s opened their spring season with a 6-0 win over Seacoast United on Saturday in the team’s first competitive action since mid-November. The Revs went ahead early as Elio Firmino (Somerville, Mass.) played a one-two pass with Jonathan Ferreira (Ashland, Mass.) before sliding the ball into the lower left corner of the net. Firmino and Ferreira linked up again in the 28th minute, as the former registered a brace after finding the top right corner of the net. Just two minutes later, Firmino found Ferreira who registered his first goal of the season. Ferreira recorded a brace of his own in the 35th minute, scoring on a backheel following a backheel pass from Luis Blanco (Pawtucket, R.I.) at the penalty spot. The U-14s opened the second half in a similar fashion as they opened the first, scoring just minutes into the half. Trevor Burns (Southborough, Mass.) whipped in a corner kick that found Declan Sung (Newton, Mass.) at the back post for a 42nd minute tally. The Revs recorded their sixth and final goal in the 63rd minute, as Bryce Visnick (Beverly, Mass.) buried a loose ball in the box. Goalkeepers Connel O’Brien (Rochester, N.H.) and Bailey Monteiro (Belchertown, Mass.) combined to give the Revs the shutout.
