FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Major League Soccer today unveiled the complete schedule for the 2016 regular season. The 21st season of MLS will open on Sunday, March 6 and end 34 weeks later on Sunday, Oct. 23 with each of the league’s 20 teams playing 34 games. The Revolution will play a total of 24 games against their nine fellow Eastern Conference foes and face each of the 10 clubs in the Western Conference once. The Revolution will open the 2016 season by travelling south to take on the Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium on March 6. The club will play its home opener six days later, hosting D.C. United at Gillette Stadium on March 12.


Of New England’s 17 home games this season, 13 will be played on Saturdays while two will be played on a Wednesday night, one will be on a Friday night and one will be on a Sunday.


Comcast SportsNet will once again serve as the Revolution’s local broadcast partner and will carry up to 29 regular-season games, beginning with the season opener against the Houston Dynamo on Sunday, March 6. This will be the seventh consecutive season that Comcast SportsNet will be the television home of the club and the third straight year that Brad Feldman and Paul Mariner will team up to call the action from the booth while Jessie Coffield reports from the sidelines during home broadcasts.


In addition to the games aired on Comcast SportsNet, five Revolution games will be shown nationally on ESPN, FOX Sports 1 and UniMas.


Comcast SportsNet’s coverage of the 2016 Revolution season will begin with the annual “State of the Revs Season Preview” special at 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 3. “State of the Revs”, the network’s bi-weekly season-long recap and feature program will return on Thursday, March 10 and run throughout the season. Comcast SportsNet will also televise live postgame shows, a mid-season special and a season wrap-up program along with other Revolution features throughout the season.


Five of the Revs’ 34 regular-season games will be available on national TV:

  • Three games will air on ESPN and ESPN Deportes
  • One game will air on FS1 and FOX Deportes
  • One game will air on UniMas
  • Of the five nationally televised games, four will feature the Revs on the road while the Friday, April 1 game on UniMas against the New York Red Bulls will be the club’s lone home game that will be shown nationally.
