FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution forward Juan Agudelo and midfielder Jermaine Jones have been called in to the U.S. National Team ahead of the upcoming friendlies against Netherlands and Germany. Agudelo and Jones are two of 22 players that were called in for the two games, which will be the final friendlies before this summer’s CONCACAF Gold Cup. The U.S. will face Netherlands in Amsterdam on Friday, June 5 before returning to action against Germany in Cologne on Wednesday, June 10.

Both Agudelo and Jones will be eligible to travel to Amsterdam on Monday and return to the U.S. following the game against Germany. As a result, each will miss the Revs’ road game against the Portland Timbers on Saturday, June 6.

Heading into tonight’s game against the LA Galaxy, which will be televised nationally on FOX Sports 1 at 7 p.m., Agudelo is the only Revolution player to have started all 13 games that the club has played this season. He is second on the team with four goals while adding one assist. Jones, who missed the first five games of the season while recovering from offseason sports hernia surgery, has started each of the club’s last eight games, splitting his time between central defense and central midfield, helping New England go 3-1-4 in that time.

Agudelo scored in his last appearance for the U.S. National Team, tallying the second goal in the 2-0 win over Mexico on April 15. He now has 19 caps, scoring three goals in that time. Agudelo is the youngest player to score a goal for the United States, doing so at the age of 17 when he made his international debut in a friendly against South Africa.

Jones has been capped 50 times by the U.S., including twice in 2015, playing in friendlies against Chile and Panama. One of four players to play every minute of the National Team’s run to the Round of 16 at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Jones had a goal and an assist at the tournament and now has three goals and six assists in his international career. Prior to playing for the United States, Jones collected three caps for Germany, the nation of his birth, before being cleared by FIFA to begin playing for the United States. If Jones plays against Germany on June 10, it will be the third time that he represents the U.S. against Germany, but the first time he will have done so in Europe.

The friendly against Netherlands on June 5 will be shown nationally on ESPN, UniMas and Univision Deportes, starting at 2:30 p.m. ET while the friendly with Germany will be shown nationally on FOX Sports 1, UniMas and Univision Deportes, starting at 2:45 p.m. ET on June 10.
