FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution announced today the club will kick off its annual Turf Tour on Thursday, Feb. 12 at the Champions Sports Center in New Bedford, Mass. Revolution defender Kevin Alston and midfielder Donnie Smith will be in attendance at the event, which will feature a soccer clinic – run by Revolution Academy coaches – for a pre-selected group of local children.

The Turf Tour will make three additional stops next month ahead of the club’s home opener against the Montreal Impact on Saturday, March 21. Each of those stops will also feature a Revolution Academy coach run clinic for children and appearances by select Revolution players and club mascot Slyde. After the clinic, fans will have the opportunity to meet the players, who will pose for photos and sign autographs. The Battalion – the official “street team” of the Revolution – will also be on hand with giveaways and fans will have the opportunity to win tickets to the Revs’ home opener.

Following the Revs’ 2015 MLS regular-season opener against Seattle Sounders FC on March 8, there are Turf Tour stops scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, at Jungleplex in Plymouth, Mass. and Thursday, March 19 at Suburban Athletic Club in Framingham, Mass. Both of these events are open to the general public and the Revolution players scheduled to appear at these will be announced at a later date.

Additionally, the 2015 Turf Tour will head to Rhode Island on Tuesday, March 10 with the Revs teaming up with Project Goal – a Rhode Island based non-profit – for a stop at Calcutt Middle School in Central Falls, R.I. on Tuesday, March 10. Project Goal is comprised of education, business and sports professionals whose mission is to facilitate the development of Rhode Island's disadvantaged youth through after-school tutoring and soccer-related programs.
