The Revolution fell short of their first-ever MLS Cup triumph last weekend, suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the LA Galaxy after extra time. Although the defeat may sting until the snow melts from the Gillette Stadium turf in March, the club’s 12-1-2 streak heading into the MLS Cup Final, and record-breaking crowds in the final three home games gives the Revolution faithful a lot to look forward to in 2015. The Boston Globe’s John Powers takes a look at the Revs’ spectacular run in the final third of the season and what it means for the club and fans as the new season approaches.

As New England prepares for 2015, strength and conditioning coach Nick Downing is the Revs’ secret weapon when it comes maintaining the club’s physical and mental sharpness. Downing, a former Revolution defender and current fitness guru, discusses the importance of fitness training, and shares his tips for staying fit on and off the field in an interview with Football.com’s Brian Lovell.
