Revolution to host second leg of Eastern Conference Semifinal on Sunday, November 9

DL - Playoffs

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution will host the second leg of their Eastern Conference Semifinal series at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, November 9. Kickoff for that match is set for 5 p.m., and ESPN2 will broadcast the match nationally.

Tickets in the lower bowl for that game start at $30 and will go on sale to the general public at 12 p.m. on Friday, October 24. Tickets will be available through revolutionsoccer.net and all Ticketmaster outlets. Season Ticket Holders already have tickets to the match, which are included as the Special Event A ticket in their season ticket packages. Ticket prices will increase for day-of-game sales.

The Revolution will enter the 2014 MLS Cup Playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, and will play the No. 3 seed in a two leg, aggregate-goal series. The Revs will play the first leg of that series on the road on either Saturday, November 1 or Sunday, November 2.

The Revs’ opponent is still to be determined as three teams – Sporting Kansas City, the Columbus Crew and New York Red Bulls – all have qualified for the postseason, but have yet to secure their seed. All three teams are in action on Sunday, October 26, in their regular-season finales with a chance to claim the third seed. New England’s opponent for the conference semifinals will be decided late Sunday evening following the conclusion of the game between Sporting Kansas City and New York.

New England (16-13-4, 52 pts.) will play its final game of the regular season this Saturday, October 25, when the team hosts Toronto FC at Gillette Stadium.

The Revolution are set to return to the MLS Cup Playoffs for the second time in as many seasons under head coach Jay Heaps, and for the 12th time overall in club history. The Revs’ second-place finish in the East this season marks the first time since 2007 – when the club advanced to its third-straight in the MLS Cup championship match – that the club has finished as high as second place in the conference.
