FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Lee Nguyen recorded his team-leading ninth goal of the season as the New England Revolution beat Chivas USA, 1-0, at Gillette Stadium on Saturday night. Nguyen curled a shot past Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy from the edge of the penalty area in the 56th minute to clinch the win for the Revs.


New England (9-12-3, 30 pts.) outshot Chivas USA (6-12-6, 24 pts.) nine to six and on the evening while Revs’ goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth made four saves to preserve the win and collect his sixth clean sheet of the season.


The Revolution next travel north of the border to face Toronto FC at BMO Field on Saturday, August 23, in the second of three meetings between the sides this season. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. and the game will be shown live on Comcast SportsNet while 98.5 The Sports Hub will carry the game on the radio.
