FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Charlie Davies scored his second goal in as many games and gave the New England Revolution an early lead, but Portland Timbers defender Liam Ridgewell came back with a second-half goal and the teams played to a 1-1 draw at Gillette Stadium.


New England (8-12-3, 27 pts.) outshot Portland (7-7-10, 31 pts.), both in overall shots (15 to 11) and shots on target (six to four), forcing Timbers ‘keeper Donovan Ricketts into five saves on the night. It was the Revolution’s first draw since April 19.
