FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution midfielder Kelyn Rowe is one of five nominees up for MLS goal of the week. His goal in the Revs’ 3-0 win over the Colorado Rapids on July 30 is in contention with strikes from LA’s Robbie Keane, New York’s Dax McCarty, San Jose’s Yannick Djalo and New York’s Bradley Wright-Phillips. Voting began today at MLSsoccer.com and will continue through Thursday evening.
Rowe earned the nomination for his goal in the 78th minute against the Rapids. The Revs regained possession at midfield, and Lee Nguyen fed Rowe a long through ball to split defenders. Rowe cut back toward his right and launched a rising right-footed shot that beat Colorado goalkeeper Clint Irwin for the final 3-0 lead. It was his first goal of the season. | WATCH ROWE’S GOAL HERE
