FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution out-shot the visiting Chicago Fire, 23-11, but could not find an equalizer after the Fire scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the third minute through Quincy Amarikwa.

New England (7-8-2, 23 pts.) had an opportunity to draw even in the 85th minute when the team was awarded a penalty kick after Jerry Bengtson was taken down in the box, but Sean Johnson made a spectacular diving save on Chris Tierney’s effort to keep the Fire ahead.

Chicago (3-4-10, 19 pts.) snapped a five-game winless streak with tonight’s victory, while the Revolution extended their winless streak to five. In the 29th minute, the Revolution lost midfield stalwart Andy Dorman when he had to be substituted off with a right knee injury.
