The Revs traveled south of the Mason-Dixon line to take on the Richmond Kickers in the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup last week. Three first-half goals were enough to guide the Revs past the Kickers, but the Richmond side created several chances to tie the game in the second half. Brian O’Connell of ESPN Boston looks at how the Revs battled through the sweltering heat and the Kickers' second half offensive to hold onto the win.

The Revs weren’t the only ones struggling in the heat as the USMNT took on Portugal in Manaus last night – known for being the hottest and most humid World Cup venue in Brazil. The U.S. looked to have won the game and advanced to the knockout round, only for a 95th minute goal from Silvestre Varela to halt the celebrations. Check out John Powers’ piece in the Boston Globe as he analyzes just how the U.S. failed to win last night.

It was a gut-wrenching finish to the game against Portugal as current FIFA Ballon d’Or holder, Cristiano Ronaldo, showed his class to assist Silvestre Varela for the game-tying goal. Head over to Csnne.com as both Revs defender Darrius Barnes and play-by-play announcer Brad Feldman weigh in on the game and what the U.S. needs to do to advance to the knockout round.
