BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. – The New England Revolution preserved a 1-1 road draw on Saturday afternoon against the Chicago Fire behind a come-from-behind penalty-kick equalizer from Lee Nguyen and a stoppage-time penalty kick save from Bobby Shuttleworth.

Both teams finished the game with 10 men after Chicago (0-1-6, 6 pts.) forward Quincy Amarikwa was ejected in the 73rd minute for a second yellow card. For New England (2-3-2, 8 pts.), Kevin Alston was ejected with a straight red card in the 90th minute for handling the ball on the goal line. He will miss next Saturday’s home match against Sporting Kansas City.

After Amarikwa put Chicago up with a break-away goal in the 16th minute, Nguyen converted a penalty kick in the 31st after Alston was taken down in the box.

In stoppage time, after Alston was ejected, Shuttleworth saved Juan Luis Anangono’s penalty kick attempt to preserve the road point.
