NEEDHAM, Mass. – As the leaves begin to change and the New England Revolution’s 2013 regular season comes to an end, the soccer team will celebrate its last match by hosting the inaugural PMC Night at its home finale on Saturday, Oct. 19. Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) cyclists will be honored at Gillette Stadium for their participation in the 34th annual bike-a-thon, riding and raising money to support adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund.

The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. On Aug. 3 and 4, 5,533 cyclists rode up to 190 miles in the two-day fundraising event with the collective goal of raising $38 million. The PMC annually contributes 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar directly to The Jimmy Fund. Since its 1980 inception, the PMC has raised $375 million.

“This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Revolution and professional soccer,” said PMC Founder and Executive Director Billy Starr. “The PMC now has all of Boston’s major professional sports actively involved with our weekend and mission.”

”The Pan-Mass Challenge is an amazing event that brings together some of the most dedicated citizens in our region for an outstanding cause,” New England Revolution president Brian Bilello said. “We’re pleased to recognize these folks who have made the commitment to fundraise for cancer research, an issue that has touched us closely this year.”
