FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Major League Soccer’s 17th season officially concludes this Saturday, Dec. 1, when the LA Galaxy host the Houston Dynamo in MLS Cup 2012. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. ET and the championship match will be televised live by ESPN and in Spanish by Telefutura.


Before MLS Cup, however, Lee Nguyen is one of four fan-voted finalists for MLS’ 2012 AT&T Goal of the Year. The final round of fan voting runs through 11:59 p.m. PT, tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 27. Voting information available HERE. Fans can vote online and via text vote.


Also on Tuesday, several Revolution representatives will attend the annual Boston Children’s Hospital “Champions for Children” fundraiser – supporting patients and their families – held at the Seaport Convention Center in Boston.

For the Nguyen – Revs’ “Goal of the Year” Candidate
Lee Nguyen’s blast against Vancouver on May 12 is one of four fan-voted finalists for the MLS’ 2012 AT&T Goal of the Year …final round voting continues through Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 11:59 p.m. PT … fans have two ways to vote for Nguyen for MLS’ goal of the year award: submitting a vote online HERE or texting G2 to 22442 (normal text messaging rates apply).


Revs to Attend “Champions for Children”
Revolution president Brian Bilello, Revolution players as well as the Rev Girls and Slyde will attend the annual Boston Children’s Hospital “Champions for Children” fundraiser on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Seaport Convention Center in Boston … Revs players Matt Reis, Bobby Shuttleworth, Clyde Simms and Chris Tierney will be joined by representatives from the Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics and New England Patriots in an event raising money for patients and their families … more information on the event – which has raised more than $28 million since 1997 – can be found HERE … the Revolution is very active with Children’s Hospital, including game day programming, monthly hospital visits and players’ direct volunteerism.


Final week of “Movember” for Revs, Midnight Riders
Members of the Revolution front office, as well as one of the club’s supporter groups – The Midnight Riders – enter the final week of “Movember,” an international mustache-growing program to raise funds and awareness of men’s cancers … fans can support the “Movember” teams by donating to members of the front office (HERE) and to the Riders (HERE) … both teams are among the top 15 fundraising teams in the MLS network and have raised a combined total of more than $1,800.


‘Tis the Season … for Revolution Holiday Packs
The Revolution’s popular Holiday Packs are now on sale to the public … fans have the choice of four- or six-game packages and both plans include the choice of one of four special-edition gifts … four-game packages start at $88 for lower-bowl seating, while six-game packages start at $108 … six-game package purchasers pay for only for five tickets and receive the sixth game free … more information can be found HERE.


2013 Season Tickets now on sale
2013 season tickets are now on sale … a special video including a list of pricing, all the benefits of becoming a season-ticket holder, and more, can be found HERE … the Revs finished the 2012 home schedule on a five-game unbeaten streak (2-0-3) and averaged 24,949 fans in its last home two games of the season.


FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup in February
For the second year in a row, the Revs will participate in the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup this February to wrap up their preseason training … the New York Red Bulls and Real Salt Lake – both teams competed in the 2012 tournament – and Seattle Sounders FC will also join the Revs in Tucson for the tournament … the round-robin group games will be played on Wednesday, Feb. 13, Saturday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 20, before the championship (which will be televised by NBC Sports Network) and consolation games are played on Saturday, Feb. 23 … for more information, visit HERE.


On the Radar
The Revolution is currently scheduled to open training camp ahead of the 2013 season on Thursday, Jan. 17 … between now and then, there will be the Re-Entry Process (Friday, Dec. 7, and Friday, Dec. 14), the MLS Combine and the MLS SuperDraft to help the team continue to build its 2013 roster.


YOUTH UPDATE

U18s, 16s undefeated against Oakwood
On Saturday, Nov. 24, the Under-18s and Under-16s played Oakwood SC at Gillette Stadium … the U18s earned a 2-1 victory, extending their winning streak to five games … the U16s came away with a 2-2 draw and are now riding a six-game unbeaten streak … the U14s were not in action.


Development Academy Winter Showcase begins Friday
The U18s and U16s travel to Sarasota, Fla., this week to compete in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase … the teams will play three group games each between Friday, Nov. 30 and Tuesday, Dec. 4, against Crew Soccer Academy (Ohio), Chivas USA (Calif.) and PA Classics (Pa.).


U14s away this weekend
The U14s travel to Purchase, N.Y., this weekend for their game against FC Westchester on Saturday, Dec. 1 … the match will be their last before the spring schedule begins on Saturday, March 16, against South Central Premier.


Season to-date records
Entering this weekend’s action, the Under-18s are 5-2-0 (15 pts.) … the Under-16s are 2-1-4 (10 pts.) … the Under-14s are 4-2-0 (12 pts.) … all three teams rank in the top third of their respective divisional standings based on points per game.
