FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Two New England Revolution players have been called up by their national teams for upcoming international matches.

Forward Jerry Bengtson has been called in to represent Honduras in the team’s friendly against Peru on Wednesday, Nov. 14, in Houston, while midfielder Ryan Guy has been called up by Guam to represent the country at the East Asian Football Championship in Hong Kong. The tournament will take place Nov. 26 through Dec. 7, and will feature Australia, Guam, Hong Kong, North Korea and Taiwan.

Bengtson has earned 26 caps with Honduras, scoring 13 goals, since he entered the national team picture in 2010. His last appearance with the national team came on Tuesday, Oct. 16, when he scored three goals and added two assists in Honduras’ 8-1 victory over Canada to secure a place in CONCACAF’s Hexagonal Round, the final stage of regional qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Bengtson has already departed the Revs’ off-season training to meet up with Honduras.

Guy has made three appearances with Guam after committing to his ancestral homeland earlier this summer. All three of his appearances came in September at the Philippine Peace Cup.
