Revs place Nyassi on disabled list

Sainey Nyassi vs. Chivas USA

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution has placed midfielder Sainey Nyassi on the team’s disabled list because of a left hamstring injury that he suffered on Feb. 10 in a preseason match against Boston College.

Nyassi, 23, will miss a minimum of six league matches. The first match in which he is able to return is the team’s April 28 road match against the New York Red Bulls in Harrison, N.J., although he is expected to miss at least 8-10 more weeks with the injury.

The Revolution opens the 2012 season on Saturday, March 10, on the road against the San Jose Earthquakes at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. Kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. ET. The match will be televised by Comcast SportsNet, and 98.5 The Sports Hub will carry the game on the radio.
