TEAM NOTES
Current training camp roster

An up-to-date preseason roster can be accessed at the team’s website HERE ...  this roster will be updated weekly roster so check the web site regularly for the most up-to-date version … click on the CLUB link at the top of the home page, and click the 2012 Preseason Roster (PDF) link in the drop-down menu … as of Monday, eight non-rostered players are in camp with the Revolution: forward David Foley, defender Kevin Garcia, midfielder Jeremiah White, defender Theophile “Junior” N’Tame, forward Alec Purdie, forward Michael Roach, forward Saer Sene and forward Dawyne “Rick” Smith.


First 11-v-11 action Tuesday night

The Revs will get their first 11-v-11 action on Tuesday night when the team plays an intra-squad scrimmage at Grande Sports World … up until Tuesday night, the Revs have been focusing on fitness and skill drills in training, plus some small-sided games … the Revs will face their first outside opponent on Saturday evening when FC Tucson, the club’s host in February at the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup in Tucson … kickoff will be set for 7 p.m. MT at Grande Sports World … the Revs are expected to play one final 11-v-11 intra-squad scrimmage on Monday before departing Arizona on Tuesday.


New, but familiar, faces expected this week

Two rostered players will be making their first training camp appearances this week as first-round draft pick Kelyn Rowe and U.S. National Team midfielder Benny Feilhaber will meet the team later this week … Rowe is expected to join the Revs in Casa Grande on Wednesday following the U.S. Under-23 Team’s scrimmage against Alajuelense in Costa Rica on Tuesday night … Feilhaber is expected to land in Arizona on Thursday following the U.S. National Team’s friendly in Panama on Wednesday night.


Feilhaber makes debut under Klinsmann

Revs midfielder Benny Feilhaber earned his 39th cap with the U.S. National Team on Saturday night when the Americans earned a 1-0 win over Venezuela at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. … it was his first cap under new head coach Jürgen Klinsmann and his first since Oct. 10, 2010 when he came on as a substitute against Colombia … on Saturday night, Feilhaber drew the start as the team’s attacking midfielder and played 62 minutes.


Revs pick up four in Supplemental Draft

Last Tuesday, the Revs selected four players in the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft … the Revs chose forward Dawyne “Rick” Smith from Bethel University, forward/midfielder Alec Purdie from Indiana, midfielder/defender Kevin Garcia from Villanova and forward Michael Roach from Saint Louis … all four players are currently in camp in Casa Grande, Ariz., with the team to be evaluated by the club’s technical staff.


Broadcast team in place for 2012 season

The Revs and Kraft Sports Productions, a subsidiary of the Kraft Sports Group, announced the broadcast team for the 2012 season … joining veteran broadcaster and play-by-play voice Brad Feldman in the booth will be former Revolution goalkeeper Jeff Causey, the club’s new primary color analyst … the duo will also be joined by 98.5 The Sports Hub personality Damon “D.A.” Amendolara, who returns for his third season on the sideline at Revs home games … Feldman is entering his 12th season as a Revs broadcaster, while Causey played for the Revs from 1997 through 2002.

YOUTH TEAMS UPDATE
Seven invited to U.S. Soccer Training Center

Under-18 player Dominik Machado (Attleborough, Mass.) and Under-16 players Daniel Apajee (Cranston, R.I.), Austin Aviza (Medway, Mass.), Zach Herivaux (Brookline, Mass.), Amadu Kunateh (Lynn, Mass.), Declan McCabe (Weston, Mass.) and Christian Sady (North Andover, Mass.) have been selected to attend the U.S. Soccer Training Center on Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Dana-Farber Field House on the grounds of Gillette Stadium … administered by the U.S. Soccer Development Academy regional conference’s technical advisor and members of the U.S. Soccer national staff, these sessions are designed to evaluate top players from the area’s Academy teams before Youth National Team trips and camps.


Youth teams on winter break

Outside of regular training, both the U18s and U16s have a break from competition until early March, when the Revs will resume their fourth season in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy … both teams finished the 2011 portion of the season at the top of the Northeast Division of the East Conference: the U18s hold a 4-1-0 record (12 pts.), while the U16s are 3-2-0 (9 pts.) … kicking off a series of road matches, the youth teams will next play D.C. United at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Md., on Saturday, March 10.
