FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution right back Kevin Alston is one of 18 players named to Major League Soccer’s Generation adidas team that will train in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from Monday, Dec. 5, through Thursday, Dec. 15. Sporting Kansas City head coach Peter Vermes will lead the team on the tour.
The team, which is composed of players from 12 different MLS teams, will play matches against the Ajax Reserve team, as well as FC Volendam and Almere City FC, before returning stateside.

This is Alston’s second postseason tour with the Generation adidas team, having also toured South Africa with the select team following his rookie season in 2009.
While in Amsterdam, the team will also attend a UEFA Champions League match between Ajax and Real Madrid on Dec. 7 at the Amsterdam Arena. Three days later, the team will travel to Alkmaar and watch Generation adidas graduate Jozy Altidore’s club, AZ, host De Graafschap in an Eredivisie match at AFAS Stadion.
The 18-man roster includes some of MLS’ most prominent up-and-coming players, including two goalkeepers, five defenders, seven midfielders and four forwards.
