Revs to open 2012 home slate March 24

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution will play its first home game of the 2012 season on Saturday, March 24, at Gillette Stadium in Week 3 of the schedule. Major League Soccer will release the Revs’ opponent and kick-off time for the home opener when the full schedule is released later this winter.


The game on March 24 is the first of the Revs’ 17 regular-season MLS games at Gillette Stadium next season, and it will also serve as the home debut of new head coach Jay Heaps. The game will mark the team’s earliest-ever home opener, supplanting the 2011 home opener on March 26.


Season Ticket packages, which include all 17 regular-season games and one other soccer event, are on sale now and start at $288 for Category 3 tickets. Holiday Packs, which include tickets to four or six games of fans’ choosing and one of our premium gifts, are also available now and start at $84 for four-game packages ($105 for six-game packs) for Category 3 seats.



First Kick presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods is set for Saturday, March 10 with six teams hosting games to officially open the 2012 season: Colorado, D.C., LA, San Jose, Seattle and Vancouver. Two more teams – Chivas USA and Dallas - will host on Sunday, March 11, while Portland will cap Week 1 by hosting a game on Monday, March 12.


Week 2 sees Kansas City, Montreal and Real Salt Lake open their home slates on Saturday, March 17, while Philadelphia will open on Sunday, March 18.


New England, Chicago, Columbus and Toronto (Saturday, March 24) and New York (Sunday, March 25) open their home schedules in Week 3. Houston will open its new stadium on Saturday, May 12, in Week 4.
