FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution begins the month of December with multiple player appearances. The club will unveil its brand new 2012-13 home jersey at a special jersey launch event at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Gillette Stadium ProShop.


Prior to Saturday’s event, the Revolution will participate in charitable events: Children’s Hospital Boston’s “Champions for Children” fundraiser and the Boston Globe’s “Globe Santa,” on Thursday, Dec. 1 and Friday, Dec. 2, respectively.


TEAM NOTES

2012-13 Revolution jersey unveiled this Saturday
The Revolution will unveil its 2012-13 home jersey at an event at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Gillette Stadium ProShop, which is open to the public … fans can get sneak peeks at swatches of the jersey all week at the team’s Facebook page (fb.com/nerevolution) … pre-orders made at revolutionsoccer.net, and all jerseys purchased through Monday, Dec. 5, will be eligible for free jersey personalization, usually a $20 fee … Diego Fagundez, Shalrie Joseph, Matt Reis and Chris Tierney will be on hand at the unveiling to model the jersey, meet fans and take pictures with new jersey purchasers … fans attending will also receive a 20 percent discount on all other Revolution merchandise purchased in the ProShop that evening.


No Revs selected by Montreal Impact in Expansion Draft
The Montreal Impact did not select any Revolution players in last Wednesday’s Expansion Draft … all of New England’s exposed players remained unscathed as the Impact selected 10 players from across MLS … existing teams protected 11 players from their rosters, with exclusions for some Home Grown and Generation adidas players.


Revolution waives three first-year players
Revolution placed three first-year players on waivers on Wednesday, Nov. 23: forward Alan Koger, defender Otto Loewy and midfielder Andrew Sousa … none of the players were selected by other MLS teams in the Waiver Draft held following the conclusion of the Expansion Draft on Nov. 23 … Koger, Loewy and Sousa did not see any action in MLS regular-season games in 2011, but had active roles in the MLS Reserve League and U.S. Open Cup qualification rounds.


Revs to attend Champions for Children
Revs Zak Boggs, Tim Murray, Chris Tierney and Matt Reis as well as former Revs forward Taylor Twellman will attend Children’s Hospital’s annual “Champions for Children” fundraiser on Thurs., Dec. 1, at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, Mass … the event, which benefits Children’s Hospital Boston, will also feature representatives from the Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots … the Revolution is very active with Children’s Hospital, including game day programming, monthly hospital visits and players’ direct volunteerism. 


Chris Tierney plays “Globe Santa” this Friday
Chris Tierney will spend Friday afternoon Dec. 2, at Boston’s Faneuil Hall helping to raise money for “Globe Santa”, the Boston Globe’s charitable arm … Globe Santa, which collects monetary donations during the holiday season, assists needy families in Boston by providing opportunities to fulfill holiday wishes … Tierney will be on hand from noon to 2 p.m., and those who make a donation will have the opportunity to meet Tierney.

Youth teams open with undefeated weekend
The New England Revolution Under-18 and Under-16 teams formally kicked off their 2011-12 U.S. Soccer Development Academy schedules at Durfee High School in Fall River, Mass., the weekend of Nov. 19-20, when they hosted Met Oval on Saturday, Nov. 19, and the New York Cosmos on Sunday, Nov. 20 … combined, the Revs' youth teams went undefeated at 4-0-0 and posted three shutouts to open their new campaign.


Youth Media Day is tomorrow, Nov. 29
The New England Revolution Under-18 and Under-16 teams will hold a media day in conjunction with their training session on Tuesday, November 29 … held in the Dana Farber Field House on the grounds of Gillette Stadium, the training session will be one of the teams’ final before the 2011-12 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase, held in Sarasota, Fla., Dec. 2-6 … media will have the opportunity to speak with the U18 and U16 players and their coaches, and also get b-roll and photos.


UPCOMING DRAFT INFORMATION

2011 Re-Entry Draft, Stage 1
Monday, Dec. 5 - via Conference Call
All 18 teams competing in 2012 will have the opportunity to augment their rosters through the Re-Entry Draft, which begins on Monday, Dec. 5 … players who are not made qualifying contract offers by their current clubs are available through a draft process for pre-determined salaries to the rest of the clubs … by virtue of their 17th-place regular-season finish (tied for 17th, but holding the season series tie-breaker with Vancouver), the Revs will have the second overall selection in the Re-Entry Draft.


2011 Re-Entry Draft, Stage 2
Monday, Dec. 12 - via Conference Call
The second stage of the Re-Entry Draft will be held one week following Stage 1 … players who were available but undrafted in Stage 1 are available to teams through the same draft order as Stage 1 … in the week between Stage 1 and Stage 2, undrafted players are able to re-negotiate their salaries with MLS and are then available to teams at the new salary rates … like Stage 1, the Revs will have the second selection in each round of Stage 2 of the Re-Entry Draft.


2012 MLS SuperDraft
Thursday, Jan. 12 – live in Kansas City, Mo.
MLS will conduct its annual college draft on Thursday, Jan. 12, in Kansas City, Mo. … players who have exhausted their collegiate eligibility, as well as Generation adidas players, and potentially a select number of young international players, will be available to the 18 teams … this year, the SuperDraft was shortened from three rounds to two rounds … barring any trades, the Revs are expected to hold the third overall pick in both rounds of the SuperDraft … a full listing of the teams’ draft positions – including any positions swapped in trades - will be released closer to the draft.


2012 MLS Supplemental Draft
Tuesday, Jan. 17 – via Conference Call
MLS will conduct the annual Supplemental Draft on Monday, Jan. 17 … eligible players who were not selected in the MLS SuperDraft are available to teams …this year, the Supplemental Draft was expanded from three rounds to four rounds … barring any trades, the Revs are expected to hold the third overall pick in each of the four rounds of the Supplemental Draft … a full listing of the teams’ draft positions – including any positions included in trades - will be released closer to the draft.
