Foxborough, Mass. – Friday, September 16, 2011 – The New England Revolution, New England’s Major League Soccer club, and Discovery 101, Inc., a leading children’s education solutions provider, today announced the “Revs 101 Challenge”, a soccer education initiative and league fundraising challenge for all New England area soccer leagues. Starting today and continuing through October 5, youth soccer leagues across New England have the opportunity to learn and promote the game of soccer with the New England Revolution and Discovery 101, while also raising money for their home town soccer leagues and earning exciting soccer prizes.

Also hosting and promoting the Revs 101 Challenge is former Revolution star, team captain and current broadcast announcer, Jay Heaps. While Jay has remained part of the Revolution family since his retirement in 2009, it was his partnership with Discovery 101 which has in large part made the Revs 101 Challenge possible.

The Revs 101 Challenge kicks off September 15 and runs until October 12. All New England area youth soccer leagues and families can participate. The Revs and Discovery 101 are further rewarding the top participating leagues with a variety of prizes including tickets and field passes to the New England Revolution match on October 8 against the San Jose Earthquake. To take the Revs 101 Challenge, participating families and soccer leagues can go to www.discovery101.com, and purchase a Revs 101 Discovery Pack. During the checkout process, purchasers indicate their soccer league to record their league’s participation in the challenge. The New England Revolution and Discovery 101 will share ongoing results of the Revs 101 Challenge throughout the designated period.
