FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (4-9-8, 20 pts.) will make its inaugural trip to LIVESTRONG Sporting Park to wrap up the season series with Sporting Kansas City (6-6-8, 26 pts.) on Saturday, July 30, at 8:30 p.m. ET. The match will be televised regionally on Comcast SportsNet, and carried locally on the radio by 98.5 The Sports Hub.

The Revs will look to build on their success on the road last week, after picking up their first road win – at D.C. United on Wednesday – and a draw at Colorado on Saturday, and will try to sweep the season series against Kansas City for the first time since 2007 after taking the first match of the season against Sporting KC, 3-2, on April 23, at Gillette Stadium.

SERIES INFORMATION VS. KANSAS CITY

• Kansas City leads the all-time, regular-season series between the two teams, 20-13-8, during which it has outscored New England, 66-53 … the teams also met once in SuperLiga, playing to a 1-1 draw in 2009
• The Revs are 6-10-3 all-time on the road at Kansas City, posting 5-7-2 marks at Arrowhead Stadium from 1996-2007 and a 1-3-0 record at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, where Kansas City called home until 2010
• Saturday night’s match will be the 42nd regular-season meeting between the two teams, and the second since Kansas City rebranded as Sporting Kansas City in the off-season
• The Revs are 2-5-1 in their last eight regular-season meetings against Kansas City … prior to that stretch, New England had won three straight games against Kansas City from Aug. 2, 2007 to April 9. 2008

Stars Go Behind the Bar Thursday Night
Revs stars Benny Feilhaber, Matt Reis, A.J. Soares and Chris Tierney will step off the playing field and go behind the bar as celebrity bartenders on Thursday, July 28, at Market (21 Broad St., Boston, Mass.) where they will mix and serve drinks as celebrity bartenders … the star-laden event will begin at 5 p.m. and with the players’ bartending skills on display starting at 6 p.m.  … all tips received by the players are being donated to the New England Revolution Charitable Foundation and the St. Boniface Hospital in Haiti … there is no cover charge for the event.

The Suitcase to Catch a Break Soon
On Saturday, the Revs will wrap up a stretch that has seen them play five of six games on the road through the month of July ... the team played just a single home league game – a 3-0 loss against Philadelphia (July 17) – in that six-week span (June 26-July 30) ... the team’s travels have already taken them to Seattle (June 26), Salt Lake (July 4) and D.C. (July 20) and Colorado (July 23) with Kansas City (Saturday) on deck, before they play three of their next four games at Gillette Stadium to open August ... last Wednesday’s win at D.C. was the team’s first of the year on the road, and the team enters Saturday’s game 1-6-4 on the road this year.

Tierney to Miss Match Saturday
Chris Tierney was issued a straight red card in the 64th minute at Colorado on Saturday, and will be unavailable for this upcoming Saturday’s match against Sporting KC while serving a mandatory one-game red-card suspension … the ejection for Tierney was the first of his career and just the third card of any kind – yellow or red – in his four-year career spanning 63 games.

Surrendering Record Number of Penalty Kicks…
On Saturday in Colorado, the Revs surrendered a penalty kick for the second consecutive game and for the sixth time overall this season … New England’s opponents are five-for-six from the spot this season with the only miss coming in D.C. last Wednesday night (July 20) when Charlie Davies sent his attempt high … through 21 games, the six Revs’ opponents’ attempts are also tied for most in club history, surrendering the same number of attempts (six) in 2005 and 2000.

…But Burying Them When Given Their Chance
Shalrie Joseph scored his team-leading sixth goal in the 90th minute on Saturday night at Colorado … three of his six goals have come from the penalty spot this year … with his successful penalty attempt, he extended his club record penalty-kick mark to 11 … Joseph’s three penalty-kick goals are good for a tie for second in MLS this season, one behind league-leader Charlie Davies of D.C. United, who has four.

Some Like it Hot
Following a kickoff temperature of 91 degrees with a dew point in the mid-70s on Wednesday in Washington, D.C., the Revs and Rapids  kicked off Saturday’s game in Colorado in 95-degree heat, despite being much less humid … it marked the first time in Revs club history that the team has kicked off back-to-back games in 90-plus degree temperatures … in club history, when the official weather has been 90 degrees or higher at kickoff, the Revs are 11-8-8 all-time, picking up at least a point in 19 of the 27 games … Saturday’s weather forecast in Kansas City, Kan., calls for a high of 93 degrees.

Joseph Makes All-Star Trip
For the eighth-straight year, Shalrie Joseph has earned MLS All-Star honors ... he was among New York Red Bulls and All-Star head coach Hans Backe’s coach’s selections, announced on Monday, July 18 ... Joseph has been named to every All-Star Game squad since the 2004 season ... he joined the All-Stars in New York on Monday morning, and will return to the Revs on Thursday, July 28, following Wednesday night’s match against Manchester United at Red Bull Arena.

Road Woes
On Wednesday, the Revs finally claimed their first road victory of the 2011 season – a 1-0 win at D.C. United – and enter Saturday’s game with an 1-6-4 mark in away games following Saturday’s 2-2 draw in Colorado ... after drawing their first two road efforts - at LA (March 20, 1-1) and at Vancouver (April 6, 1-1) – the Revs dropped six straight road games before their 3-3 draw at Real Salt Lake on July 4... overall, in 11 road games, the Revs have scored just 11 goals - one each at LA (Shalrie Joseph), Vancouver (Ilija Stolica), San Jose (Chris Tierney), New York (Zak Boggs), Seattle (Sainey Nyassi) and D.C. (Stephen McCarthy), while putting up two against Colorado (Feilhaber and  Joseph) and exploding for three goals (Lekic, Tierney and Joseph) in Salt Lake City.

McCarthy’s Majestic Mullet
Rookie Stephen McCarthy’s mullet hairdo isn’t the only thing gaining popularity on the Revs: his scoring prowess has become a welcome addition in the last week … McCarthy recorded his first-career MLS assist in Colorado on Saturday night with his flicked-on header to Benny Feilhaber for the Revs’ first goal, and picked up the game-winning goal earlier in the week on Wednesday night at D.C …it was his first goal since April 2, when he recorded his first MLS goal against Portland in a 1-1 draw at Gillette Stadium.

Back-to-Back Zack
With his start at Colorado on Saturday, after drawing the starting assignment in D.C. (July 20), forward Zack Schilawski has started back-to-back games for the first time since April 9 vs. Real Salt Lake and April 17 at Houston … Schilawski has started in nine games, with 16 appearances, tallying one goal and one assist.

Red-Card Record
Chris Tierney’s red card in Colorado on Saturday marked the team’s sixth of the season in only 21 games, and tied the club’s single-season record for red cards … in 1998, the Revolution were shown six red cards in the 32-game season … the Revs now have sole possession of the most red cards in the league this season, one more than Houston, Kansas City and Vancouver, who each have five ejections.

Back in Texas
The Revs’ U16 team will compete this week in the Generation adidas U17 Cup in Frisco, Texas … several new members of the 2011-12 Under-16 and Under-18 teams will participate in the tournament.

Fagundez Earns National Recognition
Following the completion of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s 2010-11 season, Revolution Under-16 product Diego Fagundez (Leominster, Mass.) was named to the U15/16 Development Academy Starting XI for the second consecutive year, honoring him as one of the top 11 players across the country in the Development Academy. During the youth season, Fagundez scored 21 goals and added 15 assists in 25 games – 19 goals and 10 assists in 18 games with the U16s; two goal and five assists with the U18s.
