CARSON, Calif. – Alejandro Moreno scored one goal and assisted on two others as Chivas USA rolled to a 3-0 win over the New England Revolution on Saturday night at The Home Depot Center.

Nick LaBrocca and Marcos Mondaini also scored for Chivas USA (2-2-3, 9 pts.), which extended its unbeaten streak to five games since suffering back-to-back losses to start the season. The loss cut the Revolution’s (2-3-3, 9 pts.) momentum short after an emotional 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City last weekend.

The Revs have now dropped four straight games to Chivas USA dating back to 2009, all via shutout.

There were three changes to the Revolution lineup which defeated Sporting KC last weekend at Gillette Stadium. Third-year goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth started between the pipes as a left shoulder sprain forced Matt Reis to the bench, while Kenny Mansally took over for the injured Marko Perovic (L knee sprain) on the left wing. Zack Schilawski also returned to the starting lineup as Stephen McCarthy began the game on the bench for the first time this season.

The hosts scored with their first real chance in the 22nd minute to take a 1-0 lead. A throw-in down the right wing found Moreno, who laid a short pass into the corner for Ben Zemanski to corral. Zemanski dribbled past his defender to the end line before delivering a floated cross to the near post, where LaBrocca sent a glancing header inside the far post.

Chivas USA almost doubled its lead in the 35th minute when Zemanski was allowed to ghost into the box and get a free header on Mondaini’s cross, but Shuttleworth was alert and pushed the effort to safety.

The Goats eventually found their second goal ten minutes later to establish a 2-0 lead going into the halftime break. Moreno burst onto a through ball down the left wing and delivered a cross into the middle of the box, where Mondaini went airborne to convert an acrobatic side volley.

New England responded to the two-goal deficit by making one change at halftime, bringing on Sainey Nyassi in place of Mansally.

The two-goal deficit was soon stretched to three goals, however, as Moreno capitalized on a mistake at the back to hand Chivas USA a 3-0 lead in the 57th minute. Didier Domi couldn’t control Shalrie Joseph’s short back pass and Moreno pounced on the loose ball to lash home from six yards out.

Joseph almost pulled one back for the Revs in the 62nd minute, but his flashing header from Zak Boggs’ corner kick bounced just wide of the left post.

Shuttleworth made a brilliant double save in the 71st minute to prevent Chivas USA from stretching its lead even further, first denying an audacious back heel from Moreno before expertly kicking away Jorge Flores’ wide open follow-up attempt.

The Revs will return to Gillette Stadium for their next two matches, beginning with a showdown against the defending MLS Cup champion Colorado Rapids on Saturday, May 7. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

• With the loss, the Revs fell to 5-6-2 overall in MLS regular-season action against Chivas USA, and moved to 1-5-1 in road matches against the Goats
• The loss also extended Chivas USA’s winning streak against New England to four games, dating back to Sept. 13, 2009
