FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution midfielders Kenny Mansally and Sainey Nyassi have been called up to the Gambia National Team for the squad’s friendly against Equatorial Guinea on Tuesday, March 29, in Malabo.
Mansally and Nyassi will join the national team on Thursday, March 24, and will miss the Revolution’s match against D.C. United at Gillette Stadium on March 26.
Mansally, 22, has six caps with the Gambia National Team, while Nyassi, 22, has four caps and two goals. The duo most recently appeared in the team’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Burkina Faso on Oct. 9, 2010. Nyassi started the match, while Mansally came on as a second-half substitute.
The Revolution opens the 2011 season on Sunday, March 20, traveling to face the LA Galaxy at 8 p.m. ET (TV: Comcast SportsNet New England & Galavision; Radio: 98.5 The Sports Hub).
