NE Injury Report – July 13, 2010

QUESTIONABLE: Nico Colaluca (R ankle sprain), Cory Gibbs (L quadriceps strain), Steve Ralston (L elbow dislocation), Khano Smith (R ankle sprain)

OUT: Zak Boggs (concussion), Preston Burpo (R lower leg fracture), Jason Griffiths (L hamstring strain), Edgaras Jankauskas (L adductor strain), Taylor Twellman (concussion)

Nico Colaluca, Steve Ralston and Khano Smith have all been upgraded to QUESTIONABLE. Colaluca moved up from OUT on Friday’s report after picking up an ankle sprain in training early last week, while Ralston (DOUBTFUL) and Smith (OUT) have also both moved up from Friday’s list.

Ralston has participated fully in training since midweek last week, and will await the outcome of a doctor’s appointment before Wednesday’s match. Head coach Steve Nicol ruled him out of Wednesday’s match after training on Tuesday, but is hopefully the doctors will clear Ralston to get minutes on Saturday in Chicago.

After being held to the sidelines for the last few weeks, Smith returned to training on Monday, participating fully in the abbreviated session and then doing side work on his own. He also played as the neutral in a small-sided game today.

The list of OUT players remains relatively static from last Friday’s list, with Boggs and Jankauskas still trying to overcome their respective ailments. The new addition is Jason Griffiths, who left Saturday’s game against LA in the 28th minute with a hamstring strain.
