Injury Report - May 4, 2010

The New England Revolution athletic training staff released the Tuesday injury report this afternoon following the team's last last training session before Wednesday's match against Chivas USA. The list shows two additions and two players having dropped off, which will be important as the team is already down several players.

NE Injury Report - May 4, 2010

QUESTIONABLE: Kevin Alston (illness)

OUT: Emmanuel Osei (R leg infection), Matt Reis (disabled list: L shoulder/L knee surgeries), Taylor Twellman (concussion), Mike Videira (R ankle Os Trigonum)

Preston Burpo (concussion) and Chris Tierney (L knee sprain) have both dropped off the injury list, but Kevin Alston has been added as QUESTIONABLE. He has missed the last two days of training with the illness.

There is also one new addition to the OUT faction. Emmanuel Osei's laceration in his leg has become infected and the team's doctors have made the decision to keep him away from the team and facilities until the infection has cleared. Matt Reis continues to work on strengthening his shoulder, while Taylor Twellman continues to slowly add back additional team activities into his daily workouts. (Today he participated in possession drills with non-starters.)

The new addition is Mike Videira, who has picked up a injury to the Os Trigonum bone in his right ankle. This small bone near the back of the ankle can sometimes become inflamed and tender in some people, which is what has happened to Mike.
