The New England Revolution have announced they have partnered with Comcast SportsNet New England as their broadcast partner for 2010, and that the network will air 27 matches in high-definition this season.

For the past three seasons, the Revolution aired their matches locally on TV38, an over-the-air station carried primarily by cable systems in the greater Boston area and by satellite providers. While coverage thrived in Massachusetts, Rhode Island (through a partnership with Cox Sports), southeastern Vermont and southern New Hampshire because of the station's strong local presence, other New England cities and towns located outside the Boston designated market area (DMA) struggled to access the broadcasts through local cable providers.

The search for a new television partner with a strong tradition in HD programming and wider carriage across New England led the Revolution to link up with Comcast SportsNet New England, which also broadcasts Boston Celtics games. Two MLS teams -- D.C. United and San Jose -- already air matches on Comcast SportsNet in their local markets, while the network also regularly airs English Premier League and UEFA Champions League matches across the country.

Although the destination for local Revolution television broadcasts has changed, a few familiar faces are along for the ride. Long-time play-by-play voice Brad Feldman will return for his 10th season in the broadcast booth, while recently retired Revolution defender Jay Heaps will join him as color analyst. In addition to the known quantities in the booth, Kraft Sports Productions will continue to produce all matches aired on CSN-NE.
