2011: Made 23 regular-season appearances, including 20 starts at center back, after being acquired by the Revs through Stage Two of the 2010 Re-Entry Process from Houston. Scored one goal and added one assist. Made his Revolution debut as a second-half substitute against D.C. United (March 26), and made his first-ever Revolution start on April 2 against Portland. Helped back the defense in the team’s first two shutouts of 2011: against Colorado (May 7) and Vancouver (May 14). Was ejected after a second caution at Real Salt Lake (July 4) and was unavailable for the match against Philadelphia (July 17) while serving a one-game red-card suspension. Came on as a halftime substitute against Manchester United (July 13). Scored his first goal since October 2008 when he struck in the fourth minute against his former club, Houston (Aug. 17). Recorded his first assist since Oct. 25, 2009 (while with Houston) on Sept. 10 against Dallas, assisting on Rajko Lekic’s goal. Made two appearances in the MLS Reserve League, both starts in central defense: vs. D.C. (March 26) and vs. Toronto (Sept. 2). Started and played 90 minutes at center back in the team’s MLS Play-In match at D.C. United (April 26).

2010: Appeared in 12 league games for Houston, with five starts, missing time with various injuries. Made his first start of the season on April 1 against RSL. Played 90 minutes in 1-1 draw at Toronto on July 1. Missed time with an adductor strain suffered in SuperLiga. Made back-to-back starts at D.C. on Sept. 25 and at Philadelphia on Oct. 2. Started both of the Dynamo’s Open Cup matches – June 29 at Miami (USSF Div. 2) and against Chivas USA (July 6). Left the Chivas match with an injury after getting hit with a shot attempt. Started three of the team’s four SuperLiga matches, and helped the defense allow just one goal in the 225 minutes in which he was on the field.

2009: After making two starts (April 11 vs. Chicago and April 18 vs. LA), suffered a left ankle injury that required early-season surgery. After successfully rehabbing from the surgery in the summer, was traded to the Dynamo on Aug. 14. Appeared in a total of eight games on the season: two with San Jose and six with Houston. Recorded two assists with the Dynamo. His six Houston appearances included four starts, including a defensive shutout at Real Salt Lake on Aug. 15 the day after his trade. Did not make any appearances in the playoffs, but started three of Houston’s six CONCACAF Champions League matches.

2008: Selected by San Jose from Houston in 2007 MLS Expansion Draft. Made 19 appearances, including 17 starts. Scored a career-high two goals, both of which were game-winning strikes. Netted a 90th-minute rebound for 3-2 win against LA on August 3. Headed home a corner kick in a 2-0 win against TFC on October 25. Also appeared in the team’s U.S. Open Cup qualifier on April 30, but left the game with an injury after a mid-air collision with teammate Jay Ayers.

2007: Started all 25 matches in which he appeared, scoring one goal. Helped the Dynamo set a then-league record for fewest goals allowed (23) in a season. Scored his only goal of the season off a corner kick on Sept. 16 at LA. Started all four of the Dynamo’s MLS Cup Playoff matches, playing every minute of action. Helped Houston win its second MLS Cup championship in as many seasons. Assisted on Stuart Holden’s goal in Game Two of the Western Conference Semifinal Series (Nov. 2 against FC Dallas). Made four appearances in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, helping the team make an appearance in the semifinals. Made two starts in SuperLiga. Also made one appearance in the team’s U.S. Open Cup match against Charleston on July 10.

2006: Made 27 appearances, including 24 starts, while scoring one goal. Helped anchor the Dynamo’s defense as the club went on to win MLS Cup 2006. His only goal on the season came on May 27 at New England in a 1-1 draw. Made three MLS Cup Playoff appearances, and started MLS Cup 2006. Also made two U.S. Open Cup appearances.

2005: Limited to just 14 appearances and six starts because of several injuries. Made his season debut on April 2 against New England. Missed the July 9 game at Columbus because of a left hip pointer. Missed four games (July 23 against MetroStars, August 6 against Columbus, August 13 against Colorado and August 20 at Real Salt Lake) because of a right ankle sprain. Made nine appearances in reserve-league action.

2004: Selected in the first round (fifth overall) by San Jose in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft as a Project-40 player. Started all 18 matches in which he appeared. Made his MLS debut on May 15 at Dallas. Notched his first career assist on Oct. 2 at Colorado. Missed extended time with meniscus and hip injuries. Started both legs of the team’s Western Conference Semifinal Series against Kansas City. Also made three appearances in U.S. Open Cup matches.

INTERNATIONAL: A former member of the U.S. Under-18 and Under-20 programs … started all five matches for the U.S. at the 2003 Under-20 FIFA World Cup in the United Arab Emirates … helped the U.S. to its first-ever group win and its highest finish at the World Youth Championships since 1992 … started three matches at the Under-20 CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament … scored his first international goal on May 18, 2003 and had a total of 20 Under-20 appearances … made 18 appearances with the Under-18s in 2001, and was the only player to appear in all 19 U18 matches in 2000.

COLLEGE: A three-year starter at Santa Clara University … started all 21 games as a freshman in 2001 and helped anchor a defense that posted an 0.80 GAA … named Soccer America freshman All-American and All-West Coast Conference second team … as a sophomore in 2002, earned first-team All-Far West region and all-conference and honorable mention All-America by CollegeSoccerNews.com as the Broncos’ defense allowed 19 goals in his 14 games … as a junior in 2003, led Broncos to NCAA semifinals as part of a defense that recorded 10 shutouts and had a 0.53 GAA … named a semifinalist for the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy … earned NSCAA second-team All-America honors.
