How Acquired: Signed by the Revolution as an international on August 18, 2011

Joined the Revs after more than a decade in Europe, mostly in his native France, and most recently in Greece ... is French-born but holds dual citizenship in both France and Morocco ... began his career as a forward, but has played as a wide midfielder the last few years of his career.

2011: Made seven regular-season appearances, four starts on the left wing and three starts at right wing. Scored two goals and added one assist. Signed with the Revs on Aug. 18, 2011, and was officially added to the roster on Aug. 26. Joined the team for his first training session on Friday, Aug. 26, after arriving from Paris the day before. Trained for a week-and-a-half with the club while adjusting to MLS ahead of the trip to Philadelphia on Sept. 7, where he made his MLS debut and scored his first MLS goal with a sliding headed attempt off of a Chris Tierney free kick. Collected his first MLS assist against Dallas (Sept. 10), with the primary assist on Shalrie Joseph’s game-winning goal. Missed the match at Chicago (Sept. 25) with a left quadriceps strain, but returned to starting lineup against Seattle (Oct. 1). Scored his second goal of the year on a header in the season-finale at Toronto (Oct. 22). Made his only appearance in the MLS Reserve League on Sept. 2 against Toronto, playing 73 minutes on the right wing.

BEFORE MLS: Most recently played for Greece’s Iraklis FC, which was just relegated to the Football League 2 from the Greek Superleague ... prior to Iraklis, spent a decade playing in France, first as a member of AS Nancy in France from 2001 to 2009, and later with FC Nantes from 2009 to early 2011 ... while with AS Nancy, made 173 appearances and scored 17 goals, 13 of which came during the four seasons with the club in which it was playing in Ligue 1 (2005/06 - 2008/09) ... made an immediate impact by scoring in both his debut and second matches with FC Nantes, with whom he featured in 35 games in two seasons with the club.

MOROCCO NATIONAL TEAM: Originally eligible to play for either the French or Moroccan national teams because of his dual citizenship, but chose to represent Morocco ... earned 12 caps and scored three goals with Morocco ... a member of Morocco’s 2004 Summer Olympics, starting two of the three group stage matches ... also called up to the national squad for the 2008 African Cup of Nations, scoring in a 5-1 win over Namibia.

PERSONAL: Son of Bouchra and Allal Zerka … married to Laure Clement and the two have twin daughters: Myla and Nessa (2) … in his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, playing video games and teaching his daughters with trips to the park, zoo, and aquarium … speaks French, Morrocan, English and intermediate Spanish … lists playing on the Morocco National Team in the 2004 Olympics in Athens as one of his  most memorable soccer moments.
