A versatile player who can play both as a defender and midfielder ... has played as a defender most recently after switching to defense – from central midfield – as a senior at UCONN … played in all three positions across the back for the Revolution this preseason, seeing the most time at right back … reads the game well and is simple and clean on the ball … very good in the air … originally drafted by the Revolution in the 2013 Supplemental Draft, Sanchez continued to rehab from a severe leg injury suffered during his senior year at UCONN and was not able to train with the team until late in the year … he rejoined the club for its 2014 preseason training and earned a contract.

COLLEGE: A four-year contributor at collegiate powerhouse Connecticut … earned 2012 first team All-BIG EAST honors … started all 12 matches he appeared in 2012 as a senior before a leg injury prematurely ended his season … scored one goal and added one assist as a senior … started 24 games for the Huskies as a junrio in 2011, picking up one assist while earning third-team all-conference honors … started all 19 games in which he appeared as a sophomore in 2010, while scoring two goals and drawing a third-team all-conference nod … started 18 of his 19 appearances as a freshman and earned a place on the All-BIG EAST rookie team.
