How Acquired: Signed by the Revolution as an international on February 16, 2011

A defense-first defender who likes to take on attackers and then turn around and start the ball out of the back … despite his age, has experience at the top levels of soccer in Argentina … is most comfortable in the center of the defense, but can also play as a right back effectively … signed with the Revs during the 2011 preseason, and joined the team on Feb. 28 for the first time after receiving his U.S. P-1 Visa … his first language is Spanish.

2011: Made 18 regular-season appearances, including 14 starts, at central defense. Made his MLS debut in the season opener at LA Galaxy (March 20). Missed two matches (April 2 vs. Portland, April 6 at Vancouver) with a hamstring strain suffered vs. D.C. (March 26), but returned to the starting lineup against Real Salt Lake (April 9), playing 90 minutes. Started in the friendly against Manchester United (July 13) and played the first half. Missed four matches (Aug. 6 vs. Chivas USA through Aug 20 vs. New York) with a left MCL sprain and returned to action as a substitute at Philadelphia (Sept. 7). Started three straight matches (Sept. 10-25) before missing the match on Oct. 1 vs. Seattle serving a one-game yellow-card accumulation suspension. Also made two starts in the MLS Reserve League: at D.C. (June 7) and at New York (June 11). Started the Revs’ U.S. Open Cup MLS Play-In match at Kansas City (May 25).

BEFORE MLS: Previously spent his entire professional career with Argentina’s Club Chacarita Juniors BA, coming up from its youth program in 2007 … has played primarily for the team’s reserve side during the last four seasons … made 18 appearances for Chacarita’s first team during that time … made eight appearances, including one start, during the 2008-09 season while Chacarita was “Nacional B” division in Argentina … when the side was promoted to the Primera Division for 2009-10 season, he made five starts and three substitute appearances.
